DRDO : India’s First Aluminum Honeycomb Cleanroom Panels

India’s First Aluminum Honeycomb Cleanroom Panels

In House Manufactured Aluminum Partition Panel

PLC controlled Air Shower and Pass Boxes

DRDO micro chip division set up Laser tech facility at Delhi is being equipped with most unique clean room technology provided by Chempharm. Aluminum honeycomb panels with aluminum powder coated sheets were used first time in India and all these partition panels for walls and ceiling were manufactured in house in India by Chempharm. Air showers and pass boxes were also fully PLC controlled made of Aluminum.

The microchip division of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has made significant strides by establishing a state-of-the-art laser technology facility in the capital city of Delhi. This facility is currently being equipped with advanced cleanroom technology, which has been meticulously designed and supplied by Chempharm, a leader in cleanroom solutions.

This new facility represents a groundbreaking enhancement in cleanroom infrastructure in India. One of its most notable features is the innovative use of aluminum honeycomb panels paired with aluminum powder-coated sheets, a combination that is unprecedented in the country. This design not only offers structural integrity but also optimizes the cleanroom’s performance by minimizing dust and other contaminants.

All the partition panels used throughout the facility, both for the walls and ceilings, have been crafted with precision in-house by Chempharm. This meticulous manufacturing process ensures that each component meets the highest quality standards and complies with the stringent requirements of cleanroom environments, which are essential for sensitive microchip manufacturing.

Moreover, the cleanroom is equipped with sophisticated air showers and pass boxes to facilitate the transfer of materials while maintaining the highest cleanliness levels. These critical components, constructed from aluminum, are integrated into the facility’s operational framework and controlled by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) system. This automation enhances the facility’s ability to maintain optimal environmental conditions, essential for preventing contamination and ensuring the integrity of the microchips produced.

The establishment of this advanced laser technology facility not only represents a major milestone in India’s technological capabilities but also signals a new era in advanced manufacturing processes. It positions India as a forward-thinking nation in the global microchip production landscape, paving the way for innovations that could impact various sectors, from defense to technology.
